EVOLVE

EVOLVE's customers used to wait six weeks for a site feasibility study. We designed and built the experience layer over their AI platform so they get a defensible answer the same day.

[03] The client

What they do

EVOLVE is a data analytics, research and consultancy business in the leisure and wellbeing economy, formerly LeisureDB. It runs four practices under one brand: PinpointAI, its AI analysis platform; the LeisureDB data archive; independent research; and consulting.

The data behind it is 12,406 facilities, 8.2 million member records, thirty years of geo-demographic history from Acorn, Mosaic, IMD and ONS, and 47 live partner integrations processing 3.4 million rows a day.

Operators, suppliers, healthcare partners and investors all read that data, and each of them is making a different decision with it.

[04] The problem

What it was costing them

The data sat in silos. Every useful question — should we open here, what will this site sustain, who are we not reaching — needed weeks of manual reconciliation first.

That cost EVOLVE's customers deals. A feasibility study took six weeks, and sites often went to someone else in the meantime.

Speed alone would not have fixed it. These are capital decisions that go to a board, so the answer has to show how it was reached.

[05] What we did

The work

We designed and built the interface over the AI platform: how a question gets asked, how the answer comes back, and how someone who is not an analyst gets to a usable result.

Analysis comes back at four depths — Snapshots, Lenses, Scopes and full Pinpoint Analysis — so most users get an answer in one step, and the ones who need the detail can go deeper without starting again.

We designed the archetype visualisations so a regional manager can read a catchment as a population rather than a table, and built the output for board reporting as well as the screen.

[06] The detail

Showing the working out

Enterprise buyers need to defend an AI answer to a board, so the audit trail had to be visible in the interface rather than sitting in a log file.

Every answer shows which datasets were used, which assumptions were applied, and which figures are observed rather than modelled.

The result is that when a regional director takes an analysis into an investment committee, the first question they would have been asked is already answered on the page.
